Welcome to Zonta International District 5

Zonta is a global service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women through service and advocacy. Zonta International has over 32,000 members in 1255 clubs in 68 countries around the world. The organization was founded in Buffalo, New York in 1919. The word Zonta is a Lakota Sioux word meaning  “ honest and trustworthy”.  The members of District 5 are proud to be part of this global network of fellow Zontians.

District 5  covers the geographic areas of Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. There are over 650 members in 18 clubs in the District. Zonta members give their time, talents and monies to local and international service projects that advance the health, education and economic status of women.  Scholarship, domestic violence survivor support, and human trafficking rescue and restore efforts are among the many projects that Zonta members support. Each individual club decides what service projects, that alinen with International goals, will best serve the needs of their communities. Zontians are always generous with their time and dollars to support these efforts and improve the lives of women in their areas as well as the world.

We welcome you to visit our website and learn more about our wonderful organization.
