Greetings from Governor Rae Arnold

It is indeed an honor and privilege to serve as Governor of District 5 for the 2012-2014 biennium. At the convention in Torino, Italy, I was in awe of 2000 plus women from all over the world coming together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. As Zontians, we touch the world.

The 2012-2014 class of Governors chose the name GEM’s, Governors Empowering Membership. We may call ourselves GEM’s but the membership and clubs are the real jewels, precious and critical to Zonta. The Governors commit to working with all clubs and their membership to achieve the goals of Zonta International, the District and their respective individual clubs.

New Zonta International President, Lynne McKenzie will focus on increasing Zonta's credibility and visibilty for this biennium. These goals provide flexibility for districts and clubs to align their goals with Zonta International. Our new ZI president envisions an increase in membership, an increase in knowledge of Zonta by the public and other organizations, increased use of social media and an increase in donations to the International Foundation…just to name a few.

Working together we can enjoy a successful journey and touch the world in our own way for the 2012-2014 biennium.

I look forward to meeting and working with you!
