Amelia Earhart Fellowship

ELIGIBILITY   Women in aerospace-related sciences and aerospace-related engineering may be eligible for the Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship.  This is Zonta’s original program for women in STEM.  Program background | statistics.

APPLICATION  Applications for the 2026 Fellowships are due on October 15, 2025 to D5 Scholarships & Awards Committee. They must be submitted to ZI by  15 November 2025. The US$10,000 Fellowship, established in 1938 in honor of famed pilot and Zontian, Amelia Earhart, is awarded annually to 30 women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace-related sciences or aerospace-related engineering.  It may be used at any university or college offering accredited post-graduate courses and degrees in these fields.

Our Fellows have gone on to become astronauts, aerospace engineers, astronomers, professors, geologists, business owners, heads of companies, even Secretary of the US Air Force.” These 30 extraordinary women (2025 awardees listing) pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace engineering and space sciences are from 12 countries and studying fields such as aerospace engineering, aeronautical and astronautical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, planetary science and more.  AE Fellow World Map (2025)
