District 5 Service Project
A District-Wide Donation Campaign
February 7 – March 19. 2022
Dear Zontians,
I am sure you are all aware of the devastating tornadoes that struck southwestern Kentucky on December 10, 2021. The epicenter of the tornadoes was the little town of Mayfield about 20 miles from Paducah, Kentucky. Many lives were lost and several lost their homes and all personal belongings. While Zontians from the clubs of Louisville and Elizabethtown were not directly affected, many of them have families who lost everything.
We have had several inquiries from fellow Zontians wanting to know how they can help those affected by this devastation. I am happy to report that the Service Committee Chair, Tyra Jackson and the District 5 Board voted to launch a district-wide monetary donation campaign starting on February 7, 2022 and going through to March 19, 2022.
Proceeds from this campaign will go to the Middle and High School Resource Center in Mayfield, Kentucky which serves the 250 students and their families in Mayfield who lost everything.

It is my hope that enough funds will be raised during this campaign to make an impact on the lives of the students and families in Mayfield.
