- Governor, District 5

D5 StatesDistrict 5 includes the geographic areas of Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. We have over 530 members in 17 Clubs. Zontians give generously of their time, talent and financial resources to our local communities and international service project through ZI. All projects and programs meet our mission and goals of improving the legal, political, economic, health, educational and professional status of women locally and globally. Clubs provide scholarships for young ladies advancing in the math and sciences, support domestic violence survivors and organizations and promote justice and universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms through human trafficking awareness, rescue and recovery efforts to name a few projects and programs that District 5 Clubs are involved in. Each Club determines what service projects, that align with ZI’s mission and goals, will best serve their local communities. Update from Current Governor, Patricia Roby

As the 2010-2012 Governor for District 5 Zonta International, I want to let everyone know what a pleasure it is to represent such a wonderful group of powerful women. Both in July in San Antonio at the International Convention and in October at the District 5 Governor’s Meeting held in Akron, Ohio, I have met some of the most outstanding, dedicated Zontians you would ever want to know.

I hope that, if you are reading this and would like to find out more about Zonta and the fantastic work we do, that you will contact a club near you and attend a meeting. As members of your community, we are supporting you and yours from behind the scenes. We help with the “known” causes in your area and we have signature projects that we support in all of our clubs. From our work with the battered women shelters, to the fight against human trafficking to the scholarships each club gives to women trying to make improvements in their lives, we are out there doing it all.

If you are a professional, business person with a need to help, you have come to the right place. We want the expertise of those who know how to “do it” and are willing to take the time, energy and dollars that it takes to become a ZONTIAN.
